Food Worker Cards

All food workers must have a valid food worker card. Click the button below to access the online Washington State Food & Beverage Worker training program. You can complete this training on any modern computer, phone, or tablet.

If you need to pay for your card with cash, please complete the online training and exam, then come by our office in Mount Vernon or the East County Community Resource Center in Concrete to pay and print in-person.

Certified Food Protection Manager

All food establishments permitted as a Risk Level 2 or 3 must have at least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) on staff. You must keep a copy of this certificate at your establishment.

You can complete this training entirely online. You can select any certification program accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board.

Skagit County Public Health occasionally offers an in-person CFPM class and paper exams. Course materials are available for pickup approximately 30 days before the class.

In-person classes are taught primarily in English with bilingual staff support in Spanish. Textbooks are available in English, Spanish, Korean, & Simplified Chinese. The paper exam is available in English, Spanish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Canadian French, & Japanese.
