Impact fees

Impact fees are a type of one-time charge you pay as a developer. These fees help finance your proportionate share of the cost of the roads, parks, schools, and other facilities needed to serve your new development. Impact fees are usually due when the County issues a building permit.

The County cannot use the funds collected for operation, maintenance, repair, alteration, or replacement of existing capital facilities. The County also cannot add the funds to general revenue. The amount of the fee must clearly link to the added service cost, not an arbitrary amount.
