Veterans Assistance

Veterans Assistance is provided to make sure that the residents of Skagit County who have honorably served our country are never forgotten.

The Veterans Assistance Program is operated by Skagit County Public Health, in partnership with Community Action's Robert M. Gates Skagit Vets Connect Program, and located at 160 Cascade Place in Burlington. Upon determining eligibility, the following services may be available to you and/or your family:

  • Veterans Document Support
  • Disability Compensation and Pension Claims
  • Elderly and Disabled Veterans and Widow Programs
  • Emergency Assistance
  • Other VAF Services

You can submit a request to the National Archives' Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for your own service records, such as your DD-214, Service Treatment Records, and other military records. If you need help, call Skagit Vets Connect or schedule an appointment with a VSO.

Skagit County Veterans Advisory Board

The Veterans Advisory Board advises the County’s legislative authority on the needs of local veterans, the resources available to local veterans, and programs that could benefit local veterans and their families.

The Advisory Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:00pm-2:30pm at Skagit County Public Health, 301 Valley Mall Way Suite 110, Mount Vernon. Those who prefer a remote option can join via Microsoft Teams.
