Ferry Weekend Update 10/15

Construction Scheduled Oct. 19 – Oct. 23, Passenger-Only Service Oct. 20 - Oct. 23

Update: Construction on the apron flaps will start Monday night, October 19. Passenger-Only Service will begin on Tuesday, October 20, at 6:30 a.m. We will have vehicle service on the ferry on Monday, October 19.

Due to a change in the contractor’s work schedule, construction will begin Monday night instead of Sunday night, which means we will be able to operate both vehicle and passenger service for our regular hours of operation on Monday, October 19.

The Ferry Division will be replacing the flaps on the Anacortes and Guemes Island bridge aprons. These are the parts of the bridge at the very end that raise up and down to meet the ferry and help load and unload cars and passengers.

This project is estimated to take five days. Most work will occur overnight to help keep daytime service running as smoothly as possible. From Tuesday, October 20, through Friday, October 23, the regular car ferry will operate in a passenger-only configuration. Vehicles cannot be carried on the ferry while the aprons are under repair.
