Ferry Weekend Update 10/2
Nonpeak Season – October 1 through May 19
The nonpeak season sailing schedules and fares are now in effect, and tickets can be purchased here. If you have unused peak season tickets, they will be valid through the end of the year. Please note, all tickets purchased in 2026 will expire after December 31, 2026.
Ferry Apron Flap Replacement Project
The schedule for this project has been set and construction will begin on Monday, October 19. The project is expected to last 5 working days and continue through Friday, October 23.
Passenger-only service will be provided utilizing the regular car ferry from October 19 – October 23, which will reduce costs associated with contracting this service. Please be aware that we will operate strictly in a passenger-only configuration, as the aprons will not be able to accommodate vehicular traffic. Small motorcycles, such as dirt bikes or lightweight motorbikes, may be permitted at the crew’s discretion. The loading gangway cannot support large, heavy motorcycles (for example, bigger Harley‑style motorcycles), but smaller, lighter models are generally acceptable.
We appreciate your patience as we work to complete this important project.
UPDATED: No Second 11:15 a.m. Sailings Next Week
There will be no second 11:15 a.m. sailings the week of October 5. Staff will be conducting maintenance on the bridges and vessel machinery during the lunch breaks.
New Website Now Live
We’re pleased to share that our new Skagit County website is now available at www.skagitcountywa.gov. The updated site offers a cleaner look and easier access to important county information and services. The old website address, www.skagitcounty.net will reroute to the new website.
Some residents may notice that the website does not load correctly the first time they visit. This can happen because computers, phones, and tablets sometimes hold on to older website information.
If the website doesn’t open or looks unusual, here are a few simple things you can try:
- Refresh the page.
- Close and reopen your internet browser.
- Restart your device.
- Try a different internet browser (examples include Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge).
These steps often help the device load the newest version of the website. If the issue continues, it may be due to something called “cache” or “cookies,” which are small files your device saves. Clearing them can help, but the steps vary depending on the device and browser.
With the launch of our new website, please note our new email address of ferrycomments@skagitcountywa.gov.
If you have suggestions or find errors on the new site, please reach out to Jenn Rogers, jrogers@skagitcountywa.gov. We will be working to add more information, reports, and data to the website in the coming weeks.
